Stylised and Realistic Game Levels
The aim of this study was to determine if there is a preferred visual graphics for games. In order to accomplish this, the combination of both photogrammetry and laser scanning was implemented to create both a realistic and stylised game environment.
The photogrammetry models were then taken into Reality Capture and Mesh Mixer for clean-up and optimisation before being placed in Unreal Engine 5 with nanite.
These two levels were then compared to see the contrast that is evident when viewing different visual styles and the graphical impact style can have on a player. This was in hope of discovering the difference (if any) in immersion and therefore the enjoyment between realistic games and stylised.
