About Me

Profile
I am an entry level professional, having just graduated with a Masters in 3D Design for Virtual Environments. In 2020 I graduated from Nottingham Trent University after studying Design for Film & Tv, my three years there developed and heightened my creative learning, through a wide range of work experience opportunities and development of key skills for the Media industry.

Conceptual and pre-production development is something I am familiar with through my degrees. It’s an area of focus I especially enjoy and wish to specialise in and is the next step to help me thrive and progress as a visual designer. After Graduating in the midst of the Corona Virus Pandemic, I was still eager to learn and improve these skills, through online courses, I taught myself new 3D software and worked on my own personal projects. These projects helped me to rediscover my love of Game Art, Design and Concepts, the major factor in my decision to enrol at GCU to further my development in these areas and to expand into game art and development.

I am a fast learner, keen to expand on my existing knowledge, working either as an individual or as part of a team. I love the creative process involved to imaginative worlds, whether that be in film or in games; I always admire the high quality of work developed by professionals and so would be thrilled to be able to be a part of this creative process. I am very enthusiastic and eager to learn more from working and learn from such a creative environment.
Hobbies and Interests
Books, films and games have always been a big part of my life as a way to escape the mundane. I always admire the art and designs created by artists in the latter two fields and with my growing knowledge in productions both physical and digital, my appreciation for film and game creatives is ever growing. Thanks to my studies I now actively look and recognise elements in games, which pushes me to research and try them myself.
Photography has been a hobby of mine for a long time, and I have been fortunate enough to do a large amount of travelling and appreciate the opportunities to explore with my camera. When I was introduced to photogrammetry to produce realistic environments during my masters, I knew it was something I had to pursue further as it combined two things that I enjoy: photography and 3D environments. During my final master’s project, I experimented with using photogrammetry to produce a full environment. I compared its use to laser scanning when producing realistic models and textures using PBR, compared to stylised NPR. I loved doing this project particularly using photogrammetry and found the results of my survey fascinating in terms of comparing realism to stylisation and its visual enjoyment and sense of escapism felt by the player. It is something I am keen to explore further, especially with both the film and games industries growing use of photogrammetry and virtual production methods in order to produce hyper realistic visuals.
